Rollins and Wagoner Named Covenant Players of the Week

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- Baseball third baseman James Rollins and softball first baseman Courtney Wagoner have been named Covenant Players of the Week for the period of April 9-14. It is the third time, and second straight week, that Rollins has earned this award, while Wagoner wins it for the second time this season.

Rollins, a senior from Hixson, Tenn., continued his hot hitting last week. The senior went 14-for-21 (.667) at the plate with four runs scored and six RBIs. In a game against Hiwassee College, Rollins went 5-for-6 with three doubles and four runs batted in. Rollins also extended his hitting streak to 19 games coming into this week's action. For the year, Rollins is hitting .492 with 21 RBIs and 17 doubles. 

A junior from Cummings, Ga., Wagoner had one of her best weeks of the season. The junior hit .455 with a pair of home runs and nine runs batted in. Wagoner hit both home runs in a 9-6, extra inning loss to Berry College. For the year, Wagoner is second on the team with a batting average of .447 with four homers and 29 RBIs.
