    May 24, 2010
The NCCAA's Mid-East Region and National Office have voted on the 2010 post-season awards, and the Lady Scots are proud to announce sophomore centerfielder Christine Core, junior catcher and co-captain Kim Cuticchia, and sophomore pitcher Chelsea Krafft as this year's honorees. • One Bad Inning Knocks Lady Scots Out of NCCAA Tournament; Ends Season
    May 15, 2010
Aside from the second inning, Covenant's softball team went error-free and allowed the opposing Lady Eagles of Judson University no runs and only 2 hits. In fact, Covenant's defense denied any base-runners in three of the other five innings, and never allowed any runners past first base in the remaining two. Unfortunately, the second inning came accompanied with 5 hits which helped produce 4 runs. The 4-0 loss officially knocked the Lady Scots out of the 2010 NCCAA national tournament and brought a halt to their impressive last month of softball.
  • 1-0 Loss in First Round of NCCAA Nationals Sends Lady Scots to Losers’ Bracket

For seven innings, the Lady Scots traded punches with one of the best softball teams in the country. In this year's opening round of the NCCAA Softball World Series, the now 49-1 Mustangs of Central Baptist College were limited to a single run, a feat accomplished by only 4 other teams this season. However, the Lady Scots also fell into a category characteristic of 25 other Mustang opponents. That is, they were shut out.

Covenant scored a total of 4 runs on 11 hits and shut out the Lady Cavaliers who average nearly 4 runs a game.
  • Bats Come to Life in First Season Win
    April 09, 2010
The Lady Scots' first victory of the season came Friday evening in game two's match-up against Virginia Intermont College. After being shut out in game one 7-0, Covenant apparently decided enough was enough and finally began hitting the ball like they've wanted to all year. In game two, they had everything from seeing eye singles to ropes down the line, from bloop hits to blasts into the gaps, but it was Christine Core's grand slam in the bottom of the first that helped ignite their offensive fury and set the tone for the rest of the game.

  • Softball Drought Stretches to 10 Games
    March 06, 2010
The Covenant Lady Scots' softball team is now 0-10, but before you pass them off as flawed, inadequate, or downright awful, take a look at their schedule and pay attention to the quality of opponent they've been competing with. The combined win-loss record of 7 of their last 8 opponents is currently 34-3 (92%). In fact, the Lady Scots have already played three games against nationally ranked opponents in addition to four games against Trevecca-Nazarene, who is 2-0 against nationally ranked opponents.

  • Lady Scots Suffer Two Close Losses in Season Opener
    February 20, 2010
Covenant's softball season began Saturday with a double-header against Berry College (4-2) that proved to be as exciting as they come. Game 1 started out positive for the Lady Scots when sophomore Chelsea Krafft struck out the side in the top of the first, but too many mental errors throughout the rest of the game hindered Covenant from keeping that momentum and taking the win. Both the second and sixth innings were extended for the Lady Vikings as a result of crucial misplays by the Lady Scots' defense. Despite Kraftt's respectable performance on the rubber (a walk and 4 strikeouts on 7 innings pitched), Covenant gave up 6 unearned runs and failed to ever put together a big inning. They punched a run across in each inning from the third on, but never were able to string together enough consecutive hits.
