LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The Covenant men's tennis team swept Berea 9-0 on Senior Day at the Covenant Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Before the match, the Scots honored the lone senior on the men's side, Trey Wood. Wood picked up his 32nd career doubles victory after helping the hosts claim a doubles sweep, the only senior on the team picked up his 15th career singles victory to clinch the match for the Scots and give them a 5-0 lead after two matches into singles play.

Covenant (5-5, 5-1 USA South) picked up their fifth consecutive conference victory. Their last USA South loss came all the way back on February 26 in their opener against Piedmont by a 5-4 decision.

The Scots swept the doubles portion of the match as Logan Hull and Chris Morton got the match started with an 8-2 victory at the one flight. Wood and Cameron Cortman then took an 8-3 decision at the two spot before Sam Jordan and Tristian Smallwood completed the sweep 8-2 at three doubles.

Berea (1-6, 1-5 USA South) couldn't get much going in singles play as the hosts did not allow the Mountaineers to take more than two games in a set.

Hull gave the Scots a 4-0 match lead with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Chris Malpartida. Wood then clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Dakota Massucco at the three flight and Covenant had a 5-0 match lead.
