Men's Tennis Falls To Birmingham Southern

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Covenant men's tennis team fell to Birmingham Southern on Saturday 7-2 at the Dielen Tennis Complex.

Birmingham Southern (2-1) got the match off started claiming all three doubles points.

The Panthers were able to clinch the match with the Jamie Bekaert victory over Paxton Haggerty at the two singles match.

Covenant (0-1) was able to take away the final two matches of the day at the three and six singles. Ben Luke came away with a comeback victory, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 1-0 (10-6), over Ethan Gibson at the three spot. Tyler Kelly won the six singles match 6-3, 6-4 for the second Covenant point.

Logan Hull played a tough match, making Anthony Pellegrini play a tough first set 7-5 before dropping the second set 6-2.

UP NEXT

The Scots look to rebound next Saturday as they take on Oglethorpe and Guilford in Atlanta. The match with Oglethorpe is set to begin at 10 a.m. with the Guilford match scheduled for 4 p.m.
