LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- Just over 12 hours after securing a hard-fought, 5-4 victory over LaGrange, the Covenant men's tennis team was on the other side of the narrowest of outcomes on Saturday. Visiting Huntingdon took a 5-4 victory over the Scots on Saturday afternoon at the Covenant Tennis Complex.

The loss drops the Scots to 5-13 overall and 4-6 in league play, while Huntingdon goes to 9-4 on the year and 6-3 in the conference.

Covenant started off well as the Scots took two of the three doubles matches for a 2-1 match lead. Chris Cox and Matthew Harvie took an 8-4 win over Huntingdon's John Jones and Trey Pirtle at No. 1, while Travis Hutchinson and Dan Madden were 8-3 winners at No. 3.

In singles, Harvie bested Jones 6-2, 6-3 and Cox outlasted Pirtle in three sets 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. But Huntingdon would take the final four singles points and the Hawks' Bailey Burns took the match-clincher with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Hutchinson at No. 6.
