Men's Tennis Gets Commitment from Trey Wood

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- Trey Wood, a senior from Mount Juliet, Tenn., has committed to attend Covenant College and play tennis for the Scots and head coach John Hirte starting in the fall of 2015.

Wood is a recent graduate of Donelson Christian Academy (Nashville, Tenn.), where he played five years of varsity tennis for the Wildcats. During his high school career, he helped DCA qualify for sub-state four of five years.  He was also a two-time TSSAA state qualifier, going as part of a team in 2012, and as an individual in 2013.

"I am very excited about Trey's decision to come to Covenant," Hirte said. "He is a top-notch student who has a proven ability to balance academics, athletics, and other extracurricular activities—doing all at a high level. He is a team-oriented guy who will definitely provide some depth to our lineup next year."

"Covenant has some of the best views I've ever seen, but most of all, I loved the small, Christian campus feel of Covenant and how it felt like a great community to be a part of," Wood said of his decision to attend Covenant.

Wood plans to major in History and minor in Political Studies during his time at Covenant.
