Men's Tennis Lands Commitment from Chris Cox

Men's Tennis Lands Commitment from Chris Cox

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- Chris Cox, a senior at The Geneva School in Orlando, Fla., has committed to attend Covenant College. By accepting the enrollment offer, Cox has expressed his intent to become a full-time student and play tennis for the Scots and head coach John Hirte starting in the fall of 2014.

Cox wrapped up a very successful tennis career at Geneva this past spring, finishing as a doubles semifinalist in the Florida 1A individual state tournament. Cox's career highlight came in 2013 as he, and playing partner Blaine Miller, made a run all the way to the 1A state finals in 2013.

"I loved the campus, the people, and the tennis team during my visits," stated Cox on his decision to attend Covenant. "I also really enjoy the Chattanooga area, the 'outdoorsieness', and beauty on Lookout Mountain."

'I am thrilled to have Chris joining our tennis program," said Hirte. "He is a very talented tennis player and a natural leader, but he also maintains a fun, easy-going, relaxed spirit. I'm really excited to see him thrive here at Covenant."

Cox currently plans to study Business and Accounting when he enrolls at Covenant this fall.
