LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- For a second straight year, the Covenant men's soccer team is headed to the USA South Tournament championship after the Scots ran away with a 4-1 victory over Greensboro in semifinal round action on Friday night at Scotland Yard.

Covenant (18-2-1) will face No. 1 East seed N.C. Wesleyan in the title match on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Scotland Yard.

Jesse Riggs had a goal and two assists, Josh Brower had a goal and an assist while Parker Owen and Mercer Stout added goals for the Scots. Covenant will be seeking its second USA South Tournament title in program history on Saturday, and the first since 2014.

Brower put the Scots up 1-0 in the 32nd minute as he dribbled into the box and scored into the right-side of the net. The goal was Brower's 12th of the season.

That lead didn't last long as Greensboro (12-7-2) answered in the 33rd minute. Off a corner kick from Alexander Bishop, Greensboro's Darli Mihindou found the back of the net to even the score. The goal was Mihindou's USA South-leading 16th of the year.

Less than a minute later, Covenant had the response. Riggs' corner kick found the head of Owen near the far post and Owen headed the ball past Greensboro keeper Remy Brezault for the score. The goal was Owen's seventh of the year.

Covenant took that 2-1 lead into halftime and then added on in the second half.

It was another successful corner kick in the 65th minute that netted the Scots a 3-1 lead. This time Brower played the ball to the near post and Riggs knocked it in for the goal, his sixth of the year. Brower was credited with the assist, his 13th of the year.

The Scots tacked on one more in the 67th minute when Riggs found Stout at the top of the box and Stout blasted a shot into the upper portion of the net from distance to make it 4-1. The goal was Stout's team-leading 14th of the year.

Paul Lemay was stout at the net again as he made three saves on the night to collect his 15th win of the year. Covenant out-shot the visiting Pride 16-12 and all four shots on goal for the Scots found the back of the net.

Jordy Briceno and Gerardo Peraza had four shots each for Greensboro.

Covenant takes on N.C. Wesleyan with an NCAA Tournament berth on the line on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Scotland Yard.
