LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The Covenant men's soccer team scored in the 82nd minute to tie the match, but visiting Millsaps had the final answer as the Majors scored in the 89th minute of play to defeat the Scots 2-1 on Saturday night at Scotland Yard.

The match concluded the 2016 David Taaffe Invitational. Covenant drops to 0-3-1 on the year, while Millsaps goes to 2-3 overall.

Trailing 1-0 late in the second half, Covenant was able to knot the score at one apiece when Jesse Riggs slipped a shot past Millsaps keeper Jonathan Huebbe off a corner kick from Henry Paris in the 82nd minute. The goal was Riggs' first of the year and first career score.

But Millsaps answered in the 89th minute. Tore Schutt played the ball deep into the 18-yard box before slotting a pass to Gabriel Ryce who found the back of the net from a few yards out making it 2-1. Covenant would be unable to mount another strong attack in the final minute of action.

Millsaps took a 1-0 lead into halftime after Nico Roth scored from inside the box, assisted by Matt Crooker, in the 32nd minute of play. Covenant had a few chances late in the first half, but created more in the second period. Josh Brower took two attempts from the top of the 18-yard box in the second half, but Huebbe made saves on both.

Millsaps held a 15-11 shot advantage, and an 8-5 edge in shots on goal. Covenant keeper Paul Lemay (0-1-1) made five saves, while Huebbe (1-3) made four.
