CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- The Covenant men's soccer team took a 1-0 lead in the first half, but visiting Methodist scored three unanswered goals to defeat the Scots 3-1 late Saturday night at Chattanooga Christian School to conclude Homecoming 2015 festivities.

The match was moved to CCS after heavy rains doused Scotland Yard on Friday night and Saturday morning pushing the Homecoming match off the Mountain. Despite the location change, Scots fans turned out as attendance reached over 800.

Covenant drops to 3-8-1 overall and 2-2-1 in USA South play, while Methodist improves to 6-4-3, 3-0-2.

Mike Arango scored his first goal of the year in the 36th minute to give the Scots a 1-0 lead. Arango was able to break free from the Methodist defense and worked his shot past Monarchs keeper Aex Rabone from the right side of the net.

Methodist responded right before halftime as Dylan Thomas received a cross from Seth Harrison in the middle of the box and scored to knot the match at 1-1.

In the second half, Methodist used goals from Ben Gold in the 65th minute and Harrison in the 85th minute to pull away from the Scots.

Daniel Kubin made five saves for the Scots, who were outshot 22-5. Rabone made one save in the victory for Methodist. Christopher Kitchen led Covenant with two shots attempted.

Covenant travels to Montgomery, Ala., on Wednesday to face USA South foe Huntingdon. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. EDT.
