FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- For the second time this season, Covenant men's soccer senior Ian Meredith has been named USA South Player of the Week, announced the league on Monday afternoon.
Meredith is one of two Covenant student-athletes to be honored by the conference this week. Meredith also earned player of the week honors on Sept. 8.
The senior from Nairobi, Kenya, scored two goals and had an assist in Covenant's 4-1 win over North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday. Meredith scored goals in the seventh and 74th minutes of play and collected an assist on Hunter Harrison's goal in the first half. It was the first five-point game in Meredith's career and was his first two-goal match since his freshman year.
Meredith leads the Scots in points with 15 on the year. He is tied for the team lead with six goals and is tied for second in assists with three.
