Soccer Programs Earn NSCAA Team Academic Honors

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced its college and high school soccer program Team Academic awards on Thursday morning. Both Covenant men's and women's programs were recognized for their hard work in the classroom.

Covenant was one of 182 collegiate schools to have both their men's and women's programs honored. A total of 862 college soccer teams (269 men, 593 women) posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the 2012-13 academic year. The award runs one school year behind, so the 2013-14 year will be announced next November.

In the 2012-13 academic year, the men's team, under head coach Nathan Pifer, posted a team GPA of 3.28. The women's program, under the direction of head coach Mark Duble, recorded a GPA of 3.33.
