KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The awards keep piling in for Covenant men's soccer junior Snoopy Davidson.
On Tuesday afternoon, Davidson was named the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Player of the Week by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), announced the organization on its weekly College Highlights & Rankings Show on NSCAATV.
Davidson was also named USA South Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
The junior from Rome, Ga., had a spectacular week with five goals and three assists as he led Covenant to a 2-0-1 record. Davidson had both goals in the Scots' 2-0 win at Emory & Henry on Monday night. Then on Friday night, he recorded the game-tying goal in the 60th minute as Covenant played to a 2-2 draw with conference foe Methodist.
Davidson saved his best performance for last. In front of over 1,200 fans at Scotland Yard for Homecoming, he scored two goals and tallied three assists in a 5-1 rout of North Carolina Wesleyan.
With his effort on Saturday night, Davidson became the first Covenant player to tally at least two goals and two assists in a match since Julian Allgeier accomplished the feat on Oct. 9, 2010. Fittingly enough, Allgeier's performance also came on Homecoming night.
