BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- Nathan Hawkins shot a 76 and finished in a tie for 19th overall to lead the Covenant men's golf team in the final round of the Coastal Georgia Winter Invitational on Tuesday at the Brunswick Country Club.
Covenant placed 12th overall in the tournament as the Scots carded a 320 in the final round and ended the event with a 634 (314-320).
Hawkins shot a 76 in the final round and finished the 36-hole tournament with a 149 (73-76) to place in a tie for 19th. The senior had a pair of birdies in his round on Tuesday and had four in the tournament.
Will DeMersseman shot a 78 on Tuesday and ended with a two-day score of 155 (77-78) to finish 40th in the field. Crawford Collett recorded four birdies in the final round and finished with an 86 for a 161 (75-86), while Isaac Duncan improved to shoot an 80 in the final round and ended the tournament with a 174 (94-80). John Livingston rounded out the Scots golfers in the field with an 87 on Tuesday and a 176 (89-87) for the tournament.
Host Coastal Georgia took home the team title with 291 in the final round and a 580 (289-290) for the tournament. Dawson Peters of USC-Beaufort led wire-to-wire with an 11-under, 133 (66-67).
Covenant will be back in action at the Callaway Gardens Intercollegiate on March 2-3 in Pine Mountain, Ga.
