FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Covenant men's golf sophomore Will Mayfield was the Scots' representative on the USA South All-Sportsmanship team, as the league released its season awards on Thursday morning.

It is the second straight year that Mayfield, a sophomore from Alpharetta, Ga., has been Covenant's representative on the All-Sportsmanship team.

This year, Mayfield played in all 15 rounds for the Scots. His low round of the season came in the first round of the Callaway Gardens Intercollegiate on March 5 when he carded an 80. Mayfield's best overall performance of the season came in the fall when he finished the 54-hole Chick-fil-A Invitational with a 248 (83-83-82).

The USA South Player of the Year honor went to Methodist's Chris Drysdale, while Maryville's Tyler Bray was named the Rookie of the Year. Methodist head coach Steve Conley was voted as the Coach of the Year.

All honors were determined by votes from the men's golf coach at each institution.

Covenant as a team is finished for the year, but Nathan Hawkins qualified for the USA South Tournament as an individual. Hawkins tees off on Thursday morning at Highland Country Club in LaGrange.
