ROME, Ga. -- The Covenant men's golf team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule on Monday and Tuesday at the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational at Stonebridge Golf Club. The Scots struggled in the first two rounds on Monday, but regrouped and posted a 314 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for ninth.
No. 3-ranked, and host, Berry took the team title with a three-round score of 853, 11-under par, while the Vikings' Ryan Elmore posted a 7-under 209 to claim medalist honors.
Covenant was led by Alan Craig's three-round total of 230, a career-best for 54 holes, which placed him in a tie for 29th individually. Craig posted a 77 in the first round on Monday before firing a 75 in the second round later in the day. The junior finished the event with a 78 on Tuesday.
Freshman Marshall Kent tied a season-low round with a 73 in Monday's second round and finished with a tournament score of 232. Kent placed 33rd individually. Jeron Pasma carded a 78 in the final round, while Ian Johnson posted an 82. Josh Wall shot an 83 in round one.
Covenant will be back on the course competing in the spring. Full schedule of events will be released soon.
