Blauw's 74 Paces Scots Golf at Chick-fil-A

ROME, Ga. -- Senior Nick Blauw posted a career-best 74 to lead the Covenant men's golf team in the first round of the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational at Coosa Country Club on Monday. The Scots sit in 18th place as a team.

Dalton State leads the field of 21 teams after a first round score of 286. Tristan Lough of Greensboro and Spencer Fikes of Point are the clubhouse leaders after posting 69s in the opening round.

Blauw sits in a tie for 27th individually out of 112 players. The senior produced three birdies and one eagle on the round. His eagle came on the 513 yard, par-5 second hole. Fellow senior Scott McKnight carded a 78, with three birdies, for the day and is in a tie for 62nd.

Jeron Pasma posted an 84 and was followed by Alan Craig's 87. Ian Johnson rounded out the Covenant side with an 88.

On the women's side, Maggie Mauze posted an 87, while Ellie Blauw shot a 94. Both players are playing as individuals.
