Scots Golf Finishes Ninth at The Buccaneer; Mauze Places 16th

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- The Covenant men's golf team placed ninth at The Buccaneer, hosted by Christian Brothers University, while women's golfer Maggie Mauze placed 16th in the women's event.

The men posted a season-low score of 305 in Monday's second round but could not continue the momentum as they carded a 326 in the final round to finish at 955 for the tournament. Host Christian Brothers took the team title and the individual medalist with Mitchell Bennett.

Scott McKnight led the Scots on Tuesday with a final round score of 76 to finish the tournament at 230 which placed him in a tie for 33rd. Alan Craig shot an 88 for a 238 and a 43rd place finish overall. Nick Blauw and Jeron Pasma each carded 83s in the final round, while Ian Johnson posted an 84.

On the women's side, Mauze shot an 87 in the final round and finished with a two-day score of 176, good for 16th individually.

Both Covenant teams will be back in action on Oct. 20-21 in the Chick-fil-A Invitational, hosted by Berry College.
