Men's Golf Opens Season at Piedmont Fall Invitational

CLARKESVILLE, Ga. -- Under first year head coach Jack Belote, the fall season opened on Monday for the Covenant men's golf team as they competed in the Piedmont Fall Invitational at the Orchard Golf & Country Club.

Sophomore Alan Craig led the team with a 76 on the first day of the tournament, but the Scots sit in fifth place overall after shooting a 334. Truett-McConnell leads after posting a team score of 300.

Craig's 76 has him sitting in a tie for sixth place after his round. Sam Hill of host Piedmont is the clubhouse leader after carding a 71. Sophomore Ian Johnson is tied for 10th after shooting a career-best 78. Seniors Nick Blauw (87) and Scott McKnight (93) rounded out the top four Covenant finishers.

The second and final round of the Piedmont Fall Invitational will tee off early Tuesday morning.
