PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. -- Although it wasn't a record-setting day like round one, sophomore golfer Trey Patterson still finds himself near the top of the leaderboard after round two of the NCCAA Men's Golf National Championships.
Patterson shot a 74 on Tuesday, after tying a school-record with a 4-under 68 on Monday, to place him in a tie for fourth place at 2-under, just four strokes back of the lead. Vilhelm Bogstrand of Oklahoma Christian still holds the lead for a second straight day at 6-under.
Patterson had a rough start to the day as he double-bogeyed the second hole, but he recovered nicely after making a birdie on the 8th hole to finish the front nine with a 37. On the back nine, Patterson parred four of the first five holes. He then made clutch birdies on the 17th and 18th holes to close with a 2-over 74 for the day.
Teammate Levi Nix finished day two with an 80 and missed the cut for the third and final round of the tournament.
Patterson will tee off at 7:45 a.m. to begin the final round of the tournament. Live stats can be found here.
