LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- For a second consecutive year, Covenant men's basketball junior forward Will Crumly has garnered regional awards from the NABC and Crumly was named to the NABC All-South District first team while being voted to the All-South Region second team, announced the organizations on Tuesday.

It is a second straight NABC first team all-district honor for Crumly and is his second overall appearance on the squad after garnering first team honors last year. Crumly was the only player from the USA South to be honored by either organization.

A junior from Marietta, Ga., Crumly had another phenomenal season for the Scots in 2019-20. He was named the USA South Player of the Year and first team All-USA South for a second straight season as he led the team in scoring (17.2 points per game) and rebounding (8.6 rebounds per game).

Crumly led the USA South in field goals made (182) and was second in total rebounds (233), while ranking fifth in the USA South in scoring average and fourth in rebound average. He was a two-time USA South Player of the Week honoree (Nov. 11, 2019; Feb. 3, 2020) during the year and earned Team of the Week honors on Feb. 4.

A consistent scorer, Crumly produced nine double-doubles on the year and scored 20-plus points 10 times on the year, including a season-high 29 in win over Marvyille (Dec. 4). He also scored in double figures in all but three games on the year.

Prior to the season, Crumly was named to the Preseason All-America fourth team, becoming the first Scot in the NCAA era to garner preseason All-America. During the season, Crumly was named to Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List. Finally, Crumly became the fastest player in the program's NCAA era to reach 1,000 career points (63 games) when he achieved the feat at Belhaven (Dec. 28) and ended the year with 1,320 career points, currently 12th in program history.

Crumly's play helped Covenant (15-12, 11-7 USA South) to a second straight USA South West Division regular season championship.

The All-Region teams compiled from players who were nominated by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools. There were 769 players nominated nationwide. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region.

The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) all-district honors recognizes the best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes and coaches in the division, selected by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division III.
