ROME, Ga. -- Following a dominating week, Covenant men's basketball junior forward Will Crumly was named USA South Player of the Week, announced the conference on Monday afternoon.
It is the second time this season that Crumly has earned the award, and the fourth time in his career.
A junior from Marietta, Ga., Crumly averaged a double-double of 22.0 points, while shooting 68 percent from the field, with 11.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 steals in a 2-0 week for the Scots. He posted 28 points, 13 rebounds, and two assists in an 81-76 win over Berea last Tuesday and then tallied 16 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and two steals in a 72-62 win over Greensboro on Saturday.
The double-doubles were his sixth and seventh of the season. Crumly has scored 20-plus points in three of his last four games and has scored in double figures 16 times this season.
On the year, Crumly leads the team in scoring (16.5) and rebounding (8.8), while shooting 57.5 percent from the field. He ranks third in the USA South in rebounding and is sixth in scoring.
Covenant (12-7, 9-3 USA South) sits atop the USA South West Division with six games remaining. The Scots host rival Maryville on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
