LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- Covenant men's basketball sophomore forward Will Crumly was voted to the D3hoops.com All-South Region first team, announced the organization on Monday.

Crumly becomes the first player in program history to earn an all-region honor in the NCAA era.

Players chosen to the D3hoops.com All-Region team are eligible for All-American selection. The men's All-American team will be announced at the end of this week, in conjunction with the Division III men's championships. This is the 18th year D3hoops.com has named an All-Region team and this year's All-America team will be the 22nd annual All-American selections. The D3hoops.com All-American teams, along with those of the respective coaches' associations, are the only ones recognized in the NCAA record book.

A sophomore from Marietta, Ga., Crumly flourished during the 2018-19 season and was named USA South Player of the Year after averaging 22.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, both ranked second in the USA South. Crumly scored in double figures 26 times during the year, including four 30-plus point performances, and registered 10 double-doubles. His 59.9 percent shooting from the field ranked third in the league.

Additionally, Crumly led the conference, and was seventh in the nation, in field goals made (243), while also leading the league in total defensive rebounds (160) and total rebounds (229).

Crumly was a two-time USA South Player of the Week honoree and also collected first team All-USA South accolades. In USA South games alone, Crumly averaged 23.2 points per game with 8.1 rebounds per contest.

Crumly was one of two players from the USA South to earn an All-Region team honor, joining Maryville's Calvin Songster. Maryville head coach Randy Lambert earned Region Coach of the Year, while Berea freshman Isaac Caudill was the Region Rookie of the Year.
