For a second straight year, the Scots will open with an exhibition at a NCAA Division II member. Covenant will travel to Nashville, Tenn., to face Trevecca Nazarene in an exhibition on Friday, Nov. 2. Tip-time is set for 4 p.m. central (5 p.m. eastern).
The regular season will officially get under way on Saturday, Nov. 10 when Covenant takes on Birmingham Southern on the road. The Scots have owned the Panthers of late, winning each of the last three meetings.
The first of 12 home games is set for Tuesday, Nov. 13 when Centre comes to Lookout Mountain for the first time. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. The following week, the Scots will be back at home to face regional foe Sewanee on Nov. 20.
USA South play will once again begin in earnest before Christmas Break. The Scots open conference action at defending champion Maryville on Nov. 27, before hosting LaGrange (Nov. 30) and Huntingdon (Dec. 1) the following weekend. Covenant will also travel to Piedmont on Dec. 5 to wrap up conference games before the end of the semester.
The second exhibition for the Scots will be on Monday, Dec. 17 at Lipscomb in Nashville, Tenn. Lipscomb, a 2018 NCAA Tournament participant, will have the game count towards its record. Tickets for that contest can be purchased beginning on Oct. 1 at this LINK.
Covenant will hit the road to play three games in Texas following Christmas. The Scots face Louisiana College (Dec. 28) and Mary Hardin-Baylor (Dec. 29) at the Cru Holiday Classic, hosted by UMHB. Two days later, the Scots finish the Texas trip at Concordia (Texas) in Austin on Dec. 31.
The back half of the schedule is loaded with USA South foes. Methodist (Jan. 11) and William Peace (Jan. 12) come to Lookout Mountain in early January, while Brevard (Jan. 25) and N.C. Wesleyan (Jan. 26) come later in the month. The final two home, regular season contests are against Berea (Feb. 13) and Marvyille (Feb. 16).
The USA South Tournament is set to begin on Tuesday, Feb. 19 with the top four teams in each division qualifying and the top two seeds hosting quarterfinal round games. Should Covenant advance, the semifinals and championship will be played on Feb. 22 and 23 at the highest remaining seed.
- Covenant has never faced Centre, Louisiana College, Mary Hardin-Baylor, or Concordia (Texas).
- The Scots last faced Lipscomb in 1995 and are 0-3 all-time against the Bisons. This year's game will only count for Lipscomb, while it serves as an exhibition for the Scots.
- Games against Brevard and Pfeiffer will count towards league standings this season. However, both teams are ineligible for USA South Tournament and the NCAA Tournament as they both continue their transition to Division III.
