Arima, Woodward Named to USA South All-Sportsmanship Teams for Basketball

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Covenant men's basketball sophomore Z Arima and women's basketball senior Morgan Woodward were Covenant's representatives on the USA South All-Sportsmanship teams, announced the league on Wednesday.

Greensboro's Simeon Howard was named Player of the Year on the men's side, while Piedmont's Justin Vallejo was the Rookie of the Year. William Peace head coach Claude Shields was recongized as the Coach of the Year.

On the women's side, Ferrum's Jacole Hairston was Player of the Year and teammate Zarkia Mattox earned Rookie of the Year. Maryville head coach Darrin Travillian was named Coach of the Year.

Arima has played in 20 games this season, making three starts. Woodward played and started in all 25 games for the women's team and averaged 9.2 points, five rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.

The Covenant men will continue their season at the USA South tournament on Thursday in Danville, Virginia against top-seeded Averett. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
