The varsity men's basketball season got underway tonight with the Scots hosting the Tennessee Temple University Crusaders. The outcome was less than favorable, but the Scots showed promise in a game in which they were undersized and in which the visitors were able to knock down eleven three-pointers.
Andy Euler, the men’s basketball coach at Covenant College, has resigned to take the same position at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois. Covenant turned to one of its own, hiring former Scots point guard Nathan Kirkpatrick to take over the Scots program.
Covenant College men’s basketball announces the signing of Chris Robinson from Westminster Schools of Augusta, Ga. Robinson, a 5’8” point guard, averaged 19ppg while helping his team to the GISA Region Championship and a birth in the elite eight.
Men’s basketball announces that Eric Cromartie from Arlington, Virginia has signed a letter of intent with Covenant College. The 6’1” Cromartie was captain of his Washington-Lee High School team where he averaged 8.5 ppg and 6 assists per game. He was named honorable mention of the National District of the Northern Region of Virginia and honorable mention of Arlington County in northern Virginia. "Eric has a strong work ethic, a great attitude, and a desire to be a faithful follower of Christ. Eric will be a strong contributer to Scots basketball," comments Coach Euler.
