LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- For a third time this season a Covenant baseball player has garnered national weekly honors as junior Trevor Grapenthin was named to the Team of the Week, for the period ending March 15, announced the website on Tuesday night.

Grapenthin joins Tyler Moore (Feb. 19) and Hunter Christian (March 5) as Team of the Week honorees this season. It is the first career weekly honor for Grapenthin.

A junior from Alpharetta, Ga., Grapenthin went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three runs scored, and two RBIs in Covenant's 26-2 win over Iowa Wesleyan last Tuesday (March 10). Grapenthin also drew a walk and turned a double play in the field to help the Scots to the run-rule victory. It was his third multi-hit game of the season, and second three-hit performance, while it was the second time he produced a multi-RBI game.

Grapenthin hit a career-best .393 on the year with a home run, 10 RBIs, seven extra-base hits, and 12 runs scored. The junior had a career-high six RBIs, which tied a then-program record, in a win over Averett on March 6.

The Team of the Week is's weekly honor roll, in its eighth season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors.

Covenant (11-4, 6-0 USA South), along with the rest of the USA South, had the rest of its season cancelled last week out of an abundance of caution related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) that is currently sweeping the globe.
