FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Covenant baseball senior pitcher Jonah Paul and junior outfielder Luke Harvey collected USA South weekly awards, announced the conference on Monday. Paul was named Pitcher of the Week, while Harvey garnered Player of the Week honors.

Harvey is the second consecutive Scot to be named the conference's player of the week as Joel Johnson received the honor last week. Harvey and Paul join Johnson and Ryan Gosney as baseball athletes to earn weekly honors from the USA South this year.

Paul, a senior from Rossville, Ga., tossed a three-hit, complete-game shutout in a 5-0 victory over Emory & Henry on Saturday that concluded a three-game sweep. The senior right-hander struck out a career-high nine and faced just five over the minimum in his first career nine-inning complete-game effort. Through his first two starts, Paul has an ERA of 0.64 and has scattered six hits over 14 innings of work while picking up two wins.

Harvey, a junior from Apex, N.C., went a combined 7-for-10 (.700) with a slugging percentage of .900, five runs scored, one run batted in, two doubles, one walk and one stolen base as the Scots swept a three-game series from Emory & Henry. He went 2-for-3 with two runs in a 6-3 game one win before going 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs in a 6-5 game two victory. Harvey capped the weekend by going 2-for-3 with a walk, stolen base and run scored in a 5-0 win. On the year, Harvey is hitting .588 with seven runs, four RBIs and three steals.
