LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced its NCAA Division III national players of the week on Thursday and Covenant third baseman Perry Rigby was listed as a honorable mention hitter of the week.
Rigby, a sophomore from Decatur, Ala., went a combined 13-for-21 (.619) with eight RBIs, six runs scored, four doubles and one walk as the Scots posted a 3-1 record last week. In a three-game sweep of USA South foe Greensboro, Rigby was a combined 12-for-14 (.857) with eight RBIs, five runs scored, four doubles and one walk. Rigby was 4-for-4 in each of the first two games of the Greensboro series.
Grinnell College's Anthony Mack was the Hitter of the Week, while Gallaudet University's Danny O'Donnell was selected as Pitcher of the Week.
Covenant opens up a three-game USA South series with LaGrange on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
