The weekly honors are the first for the baseball program this season.
Kriston was selected as Pitcher of the Week after a stellar outing on Saturday against Milligan. The sophomore from Trinity, Fla., flirted with a no-hitter before settling for a one-hit, complete-game shutout. Kriston struck out 10 batters and walked three. He was one out away from a no-hitter before Milligan's Edwin Soto broke it up with two outs in the seventh inning. It was the second one-hitter of Kriston's career.
A day before Kriston's performance, Lester picked up his first collegiate win in relief and was rewarded with Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors. The freshman from Hiram, Ga., went the final six innings and allowed one unearned run on two hits. Lester struck out two and walked one, while throwing just 58 pitches, 43 for strikes, as Covenant defeated Milligan 9-1.
