The players on the All-Region team were recognized during Thursday's action of the region tournament.
Hunter Newman of Trevecca Nazarene was named the Player of the Year for the region.
Mabe started 10 games during the regular season and went 7-1 with a 2.32 ERA. The left-hander from Cumming, Ga., set a new modern Covenant single game record for strikeouts when he punched out 13 on April 19 at LaGrange. Mabe struck out 61 and walked 12 while allowing opponents to hit a lowly .183 during the season.
Gillespie also had an outstanding season. The outfielder from Milton, Ga., led Covenant in hitting with a .369 average to go along with two home runs and 34 RBIs. Gillespie had a .451 on-base percentage and slugged at a .538 clip. The sophomore tied a Covenant record with six RBIs in a 15-3 victory over Tennessee Temple on April 5.
