Scott returns to the Covenant this season as a sophomore infielder for the Scots. During his freshman season at Covenant, Scott was named to the GSAC All-Freshman team. He was also voted the Covenant Player of the Week for his performance during a stretch of games in his first season as a Scot. Prior to Covenant, he played baseball for Milton High School where he was the recipient of the Steel Spike Award and the Georgia Dugout Club Outstanding Season Award.
His parents are Mark (played baseball at the University of Evansville) and Susan Gillespie. He has a brother, Danny. When he is not playing baseball, Scott enjoys lifting weights. One of his favorite Bible versses is Psalm 37:4 which says, "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."
Scott is majoring in Pre-Med Biology and minoring in Chemistry. He plans to attend medical school after graduating from Covenant. When he is finished with his schooling, he would like to become an orthopedic doctor.
