Hall Named First Team, Four Earn USA South Women's Tennis Honors

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Covenant women's tennis junior Aly Hall was selected to the USA South All-Conference first team and first team All-West, while junior Annie DeLuca and senior Claire Luger were All-West second team choices as the conference unveiled its postseason awards on Thursday. Esther Eddy was Covenant's representative on the All-Sportsmanship team... Hirte Voted Coach of the Year; Harvie and Cox All-Conference

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Covenant head men's tennis coach John Hirte was named USA South Coach of the Year, Matthew Harvie earned first team All-USA South and All-West Division while Chris Cox was a first team All-West selection as the league released its postseason awards on Thursday. Additionally, freshman Ben Tonkel was Covenant's representative on the All-Sportsmanship team... FULL STORY


- Women's tennis senior Gracie Smith capped her career by tying her own single-season program record with 16 singles wins. Smith went 16-4 in dual matches this year and helped the Lady Scots reach the USA South Tournament championship match. Smith ends her career with 53 singles wins to set the program record.

- Men's golf freshman Nathan Hawkins finished his rookie campaign in a strong way. Hawkins placed in a tie for 13th at the USA South Tournament after his final round 71 on Saturday. In four of his last six rounds on the year, Hawkins shot a 74 or better and led the team in round average for the season.

- Tennis head coach John Hirte collected USA South Coach of the Year honors for men's tennis last week. The honor marked the third straight year that Hirte has been named a Coach of the Year in the conference (2015 - men, 2016 - women, 2017 - men).

- Baseball: The Scots finish the year with a road game at Carson-Newman (Tuesday at 6 PM; Smokies Stadium) and at home for a doubleheader on Saturday vs. Methodist (12 PM).

- Track and Field: Covenant will compete in the Independent Track & Field Championships on Thursday in Durham, N.C.
