Moore Earns Second USA South Player of the Week Award

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. For the second time this season Covenant volleyball sophomore Ginny Moore has been named USA South Player of the Week, announced the league on Monday, Oct. 5. FULL STORY

Five Softball Student-Athletes Earn NFCA Scholar-Athlete Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Five Covenant softball student-athletes were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete team, announced the organization earlier this week. Jami JohnsonJoni JohnsonJacey MassettoShannon Schmitt and Kaitlyn Sirmons all earned honors. FULL STORY

USA South Presents Covenant with Sportsmanship Trophy

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The USA South Athletic Conference presented its 2015 Sportsmanship Trophy to Covenant College at the Scots' men's soccer game vs. North Carolina Wesleyan on Friday, Oct. 9. FULL STORY

BY THE NUMBERS:

9: Number of times this season that volleyball senior Chelsea VanDyk has recorded a hitting percentage of .400 or better. VanDyk eclipsed the mark for the ninth time this year in last week's 3-1 loss at Birmingham Southern with 15 kills in 25 total attacks.

4: Number of shutouts for women's soccer freshman goalkeeper Rachel Lemay. Lemay produced her fourth complete clean sheet of the year in Saturday's 1-0 win over North Carolina Wesleyan. The rookie has a goals against average of 0.94 on the year with 43 saves for the 6-4 Lady Scots.

Oct. 2, 2013: This was the date the last time the men's soccer team lost a USA South home match before Friday night's 1-0 defeat at the hands of North Carolina Wesleyan. Covenant was 8-0-1 in nine conference home contests since the last defeat.

THE ROAD AHEAD:

Cross Country:
Covenant will racing in the Berry College Viking Open on Oct. 17 in Rome, Ga.

Men's Soccer:
Covenant travels to face Huntingdon in a USA South match on Wednesday at 5 p.m. EDT.

Women's Soccer:
The Lady Scots also play just one match this week with a date at Huntingdon on Wednesday at 3 p.m. EDT.

Volleyball:
Covenant hosts Maryville in a pivotal USA South clash on Tuesday at 7 p.m. inside Barnes PE Center. The Lady Scots then hit the road for a USA South quad-match in Staunton, Va., on Saturday against Greensboro (10 a.m.) and Mary Baldwin (noon).
