BY THE NUMBERS:
4: With the baseball team taking a doubleheader sweep from Greensboro on Saturday, the Scots have started 2-0 in each of the last four seasons. Last year, Covenant won its first five games.
4-0: The road record in USA South games for the men's basketball team so far this year. The Scots remained perfect on the road with a 77-68 victory at Averett last Tuesday. The Scots have three more road USA South games remaining on the schedule.
22: Number of points scored by women's basketball freshman Joanna Smith, a career-high, in Saturday's loss to Ferrum. It was her third 20-plus point effort of the season.
THE ROAD AHEAD:
Covenant hosts Emory & Henry for a three-game series this weekend at home. Game one is Friday at 2 p.m., while Saturday will feature two seven-inning contests starting at noon.
The Scots hit the road for three USA South games starting Wednesday at Piedmont (7:30 p.m.) followed by a trip to LaGrange on Friday (7:30 p.m.) and Huntingdon (7 p.m.) on Saturday.
The women will also be on the road for three conference games starting on Wednesday at Piedmont (5:30 p.m.) followed a trip to LaGrange on Friday (5:30 p.m.) and Huntingdon on Saturday (5 p.m.).
The Lady Scots get the year started on Saturday with a doubleheader at Wesleyan. Game one is set for 3 p.m.
Covenant hosts Birmingham Southern on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Lady Scots also host Birmingham Southern on Saturday at 1 p.m.
