  • The men's basketball game at Averett scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23 was postponed. No makeup date has been announced, but it is expected to be rescheduled.
  • The women's basketball team attempted to get their game at Meredith in on Saturday, but the contest was ultimately postponed. Presently, it is unclear when, or if, the game will be made up

BY THE NUMBERS:

5-1: The current USA South record for the men's basketball team. The start equals the best start in conference play in program history set in the 1995-96 season. That year, the Scots eventually started 7-1 in the TVAC before finishing 14-6. Incidentally, the 14 conference wins that year is still a program record.

1995: The men's basketball victory over Maryville last Thursday was the first over the northern Scots since the 1994-95 season. Covenant had been 0-17 during that stretch against Maryville entering last week's contest.

2: Number of double-doubles on the year for women's basketball junior Rachel Price. Price continued her strong play this year with 13 points and 14 rebounds in the Scots' 76-58 triumph at Mary Baldwin last Thursday.

4: Women's basketball freshman Joanna Smith notched her fourth USA South Rookie of the Week honor last week (for the period of Jan. 11-17). Smith continues to make her case as the best freshman in the USA South by averaging 11.4 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game on the year.
