LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- Emma Grimes has been named the athletic communications assistant at Covenant. She joins Andrew Mindeman, director of athletic communications, on the staff that promotes Covenant athletics.

A 2018 graduate of Covenant, Grimes was a member of the women's basketball team at Covenant from 2016-18 and is excited for the opportunity to be back at her alma mater.

"I am so very grateful for the chance God has given me to come back to the mountain," said Grimes. "Covenant has always had a special place in my heart, and my best memories and relationships are thanks to this place."

"I'm excited to welcome Emma back to Covenant College," said Mindeman. "She brings a passion for Covenant athletics and knows the impact it can make on student-athletes. She will be a tremendous asset for us as we promote Covenant teams and student-athletes."

In her two years at Covenant, Grimes led the team in 3-pointers made and was third overall in the USA South in 3-point percentage. She finished her collegiate career with a total of 827 points and holds the Covenant single-game record with 10 3-pointers in a game. Grimes is ninth in program history in 3-pointers made with 122 and holds the program's top spot in career 3-point percentage at 40.4 percent.

After graduating from Covenant in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in sport administration, Grimes went on to work for the Chattanooga Lookouts where she was the Merchandise Assistant. There she managed employees, handled inventory, ran clubs, and created content for the website, among other duties.

"As I come back to Covenant, I hope to bring the joy of Christ with me as I work alongside the amazing students and staff in the athletic department," added Grimes. "Covenant is truly a place that is set apart for Christ's glory, and my prayer is that my work here will make much of His Name instead of mine--that in all things He may be preeminent."

Grimes plans to pursue a master's degree from Belhaven University.
