LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The second annual Highlander Cup, presented by the Scots Athletic Club, was hosted by the Covenant athletic department on June 29, 2019 at McLemore in Rising Fawn, Ga.
The event was presented by the Scots Athletic Club, Covenant's booster club initiative which exists to financially support the athletic department in its mission to seek, explore, and express the preeminence of Christ in intercollegiate athletics by cultivating disciples and pursuing excellence.
"We are so thankful for the opportunity to host an event like this," said Dr. Tim Sceggel, director of athletics. "It brings in alumni from an athletic perspective, but also new friends that are interested in supporting the mission and vision of Covenant College athletics."
Being hosted for the first time at McLemore, the Highlander Cup saw 76 participants. The participants were treated to lunch, provided by The Feed Co., and heard from Sceggel and head men's basketball coach Neal Young before the tournament. The players then paired up for a round of golf and were offered prizes throughout the day. Contests included long drive and closest to pin on the picturesque, but challenging, McLemore course.
The foursome of Richmond Smyth, Ethan Pettit, Crawford Collett, and King Jemison won the tournament.
