LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The Covenant College athletic department re-launched its official website, athletics.covenant.edu, on Wednesday morning.
Covenant has once again partnered with Presto Sports to provide fans with a first-class web experience. The site is the third one designed by Presto for Covenant.
"We are really excited about the new website and the value it adds to the department and the college as a whole," said director of athletic communications Andrew Mindeman. "We wanted the site to serve two purposes in that it would continue to be the number one source for all information on Covenant athletics, but also become more of a recruiting tool to showcase what being a student and an athlete at Covenant is all about."
The site continues to feature content from all 14 Covenant intercollegiate athletic programs. Some of the unique design aspects of the site include a trailer video at the top of the main page that showcases some of the mission of the department, and an endless scroll of news, photo galleries, and videos starting halfway down the page. The endless scroll can be filtered to include only news, photo galleries, or videos.
The site retains its responsive design as well. No matter the device, the website will automatically resize the content to the screen to ensure that fans are getting the full experience of the site.
In addition to the sleek design elements, Presto Sports and Covenant have worked closely to strengthen the site's security and its accessibility. An SSL has been added to the site to add security protection for data that will be gathered on the site, mainly through the use of forms and questionnaires. The site will now also be in working compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0) to help meet ADA guidelines.
