Opened in 1989, Scotland Yard is home to both the men’s and women’s soccer programs at Covenant. The field is of maximum regulation dimensions (118 yards by 70 yards). Scotland Yard boasts cement bleachers, along with two newer sets of metal stands, and a retaining wall which provides additional fan seating.
Across from the north-side bleachers, are the team and press areas on the south side of the field. Both teams sit in covered bench areas. During the summer of 2008, the field was completely overhauled by installing a drainage system and a sprinkler system. Also a crowning of the field was performed and a sand base was put in place for better drainage. Lights were installed for the first time before the 2010 season.
The inaugural match held at Scotland Yard pitted Covenant against Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI) on September 2, 1989. The Scots came out with a 1-0 victory over the Metros on that day and would finish the opening season at Scotland Yard with a 7-1-1 home record.
The field has seen some historical matches as well. Former men's soccer head coach Brian Crossman, an NAIA Hall of Famer, registered his 300th career victory at Scotland Yard during the 2004 season. Current women's soccer head coach Mark Duble recorded his 200th and 250th career coaching wins at the Yard. Scotland Yard has played host to numerous conference tournament and regional tournament matches in its 30 years of existence.
The men's soccer team averaged 503 fans per home match in the 2013 season. In 2012, Covenant ranked 15th in all of NCAA Division III men's soccer in attendance averaging 437 fans per match, including a season-high 1,300 for the Homecoming contest.
