LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The USA South Athletic Conference presented its 2015 Sportsmanship Trophy to Covenant College at the Scots' men's soccer game vs. North Carolina Wesleyan on Friday, Oct. 9.

USA South Associate Commissioner Mike Christie was on-hand to present the award to Covenant President Dr. J. Derek Halverson, Director of Athletics Kyle Taylor and student-athletes from various Covenant athletic programs that earned individual team sportsmanship honors last year. The Scots shared the honor with Mary Baldwin College who will be later honored during a basketball game.

Last year, Covenant’s men’s soccer, baseball and softball teams earned individual sport sportsmanship awards as the Scots captured the Sportsmanship Trophy for the second consecutive year.

"I'm really proud of our student-athletes at Covenant for winning this award for the second consecutive year," said Taylor. "I also want to congratulate Mary Baldwin as co-winners. As a Christian College that seeks to put Christ first in everything we do, I am encouraged that student-athletes at other Conference institutions are seeing that character, faith and love in action on the fields and courts of competition."
