USA SOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS UPDATE:
For a second straight year, the men's cross country team won the USA South championship. Paced by individual champion Graham Massot, the Scots picked up the ninth conference title in program history. It also marked the first time since 1995 that the Scots have repeated as conference champons.
On the women's side, Covenant finished second by a mere three points to champion Meredith. Beth Burgess, the reigning individual champion, finished second.
The Scots earned the No. 2 seed in the USA South Tournament and won a quarterfinal match at Scotland Yard 1-0 over No. 7 seed Piedmont on Saturday. Covenant advances to the semifinals where they will face No. 3 seed North Carolina Wesleyan on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Martinsville, Va.
Covenant was the No. 6 seed in this year's USA South Tournament and had to travel to Fayetteville, N.C., to face third-seeded Methodist. Although the Lady Scots played well, it was the host Monarchs who took a 1-0 win. The loss ends the year for the Lady Scots with a 9-10-1 overall record.
Covenant wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the South Division with two wins on Saturday. The Lady Scots will face the No. 3 seed from the North Division in Methodist in a USA South Tournament quarterfinal on Friday at 7 p.m. in Martinsville, Va.
BY THE NUMBERS:
9: The number of conference titles the men's cross country team owns after winning their second straight USA South crown on Saturday.
5: Number of consecutive matches that men's soccer senior Snoopy Davidson has scored at least one goal. Davidson has been on a tear of late with six goals over the last five matches. He had the game-winner in Saturday's 1-0 USA South Tournament win over Piedmont.
12: The volleyball team finished the USA South regular season with a 12-4 record. The 12 wins are the most conference victories in a single season on record in program history.
2: Number of Runner of the Year awards earned by cross country runners last week. Eliot Kaufmann was the USA South's Runner and Rookie of the Year on the men's side, while Beth Burgess was the Runner of the Year on the women's side.
- Men's soccer seniors Snoopy Davidson and Joel Friesen were both named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team on Thursday for their efforts on the field and in the classroom.

- The women's soccer team ended the year with a record below .500 for the first time since 1999. In 21 years of existence, the program has suffered only three losing seasons.
- The volleyball team will play its final home match of the year on Tuesday against Oglethorpe at 6:30 p.m. Senior Night activities will take place before the match as the team recognizes Pretoria den Boer and Stephanie Kirkpatrick.
