BY THE NUMBERS:

4-2: The start to the season for the men's tennis team after earning three victories over the weekend. The Scots continue to show improvement as their start matches the best six-match start to a season in program history (also done in 2010). Covenant last won three matches in a row in March of 2010 when current head coach John Hirte was a sophomore on the squad.

20: The number of career singles matches won by women's tennis sophomore Gracie Smith. With Smith's 6-3, 6-0 win over Lynchburg's Madison Karnes on Saturday, she moved into third place all-time in program history with 20 singles victories (in dual matches).

16: Number of runs scored by the baseball team in Saturday's 16-1 victory over LaGrange in game one of a doubleheader. It was a season-high in runs scored and the Scots recorded a season-best 18 hits in the victory.

NOTES:

  • One home date this week has already been affected by the spring weather. Tuesday's baseball doubleheader against William Peace has been postponed. Baseball travels to Alabama this weekend for a two-game series with nationally-ranked Birmingham Southern.
  • Softball is scheduled to play three doubleheaders at home this week starting on Wednesday against Sewanee. USA South foes Meredith (Friday) and William Peace (Saturday) visit this weekend.
  • The tennis teams will also be back in action at home on Saturday against William Peace (10 a.m.) and Johnson (5:30 p.m.). The men's match vs. William Peace does not count towards the conference standings.
