FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Covenant men's basketball sophomore Z Arima and women's basketball senior Morgan Woodward were Covenant's representatives on the USA South All-Sportsmanship teams, announced the league on Wednesday. FULL STORY

BY THE NUMBERS:

8: Roughly the number of inches of snow Lookout Mountain received on Wednesday night. The winter storm wreaked havoc on spring sports schedules forcing postponements of three baseball games, four softball games and one tennis match along with four JV contests this week.

3: Number of home runs hit by softball junior Morgan Lane in Saturday's doubleheader sweep of Agnes Scott. Lane hit a homer in game one and then two in the second game. She also collected a total of eight RBIs (with six coming in game two). Prior to Saturday, Lane had three home runs in 74 career games.

5-1: The record for the softball team this season. That marks the best six-game start in the program's eight-year history.

2011: The last time the baseball team had faced former NAIA rival Bryan before playing two against the Lions on Saturday. After the postponement of a three-game series with William Peace, the Scots scheduled Bryan. Covenant lost both games, but still leads the overall all-time series with the Lions 8-7.

14: Number of points scored by men's basketball junior Micah Turner in Thursday's USA South Tournament loss at No. 1 seed Averett. Turner went 7-of-8 from the field and scored 10 of his points in the first half to lead the Scots to a halftime lead.

  • USA South play begins for softball and both tennis teams this weekend. All three teams will play at Greensboro (Friday) and Ferrum (Saturday).
