Women's Soccer earns NSCAA Silver Award for Team Ethics
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Covenant women's soccer team has been honored with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Silver Award for Team Ethics for the 2014 season, announced the association on Tuesday.
In all, 125 college teams received either the Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the Team Ethics Award, which recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.
Covenant had just two yellow cards this year. The Lady Scots are one of 82 teams (both men and women) to claim the Silver Award, which is given to teams that accumulate no red cards and five or fewer yellow cards during the year.
This is the third consecutive season that Covenant has earned the Silver Award. FULL STORY
