EXPOSURE CAMPS

Each camp limited to first 25 participants who submit registration form & payment.

  

We invite you to spend a day with the Lady Scots softball program

  • Meet current players and coaches
  • View our athletic facilities

 

Camp Schedule:

8:30-9:00 a.m. - Registration (Ashe lobby)

9:00-10:30 a.m. - Skill development

10:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. - Scrimmage

12:00 noon - Closing comments

12:15 p.m. - Dismissal

12:30 p.m. - Optional lunch with players (additional cost)

1:30-3:00 p.m. - Optional campus tour

 

What to bring:

Cleats, Tennis Shoes, Glove, Bat, Hat/Visor, Water Bottle, Catcher Gear (if applicable)

 

 

VANCOUVER ISLAND CAMPS

 


 

Exposure Camp - Vancouver Island

Ages: Grades 9-12

Check In/Out: 9am-12pm

Location: Frances Kelsey High School

Cost: $30 USD includes T-Shirt

Registration: 8:30am

*Limited to the first 50 that register online

 

This camp is for the softball player that desires to play at the collegiate level. A widespread of skills will be taught and accessed during this camp. Also, a lecture will be given on how to get recognized by college coaches and what they are looking for in their athletes.

  

What to bring:

Tennis Shoes, Glove, Bat, Helmet Water Bottle, Catcher Gear (if applicable), Signed Registration Form, & Payment ($30 USD).

  


 

Skills Camp - Vancouver Island

This camp is for softball players who desire to improve their overall skill levels. Mechanics of throwing, fielding, hitting, and bunting will be covered thoroughly as well as base running and specific positional skills and strategies.

  

What to bring:

Tennis Shoes, Glove, Bat, Helmet, Water Bottle, Catcher Gear (if applicable), Signed Registration Form, & Payment ($25 USD).

 

 

SUMMER 2012 CAMPS


 

Pitching Clinic: The Basics

Ages: 6 - 12 years old

Time: 1pm to 2pm

Cost: $25.00

Registration: 12:30pm @ Highland’s Field

 

This pitching clinic is for young pitchers working to improve their pitching fundamentals. We will work on pitching mechanics and learn various drills to increase speed and accuracy.

 

What to bring:
Cleats, Tennis Shoes, Glove, Hat/Visor, Water Bottle, a Catcher with Gear.

 


 

Little Scots Camp

Cost: $150.00 includes 3 meals & T-Shirt
Registration: 3pm – 5pm in Ashe Lobby

This overnight camp is for young athletes who desire to improve their overall skill level. Mechanics of throwing, fielding, hitting and bunting will be covered thoroughly as well as base running, game sense and specific positional skills and strategies.

Pitching Clinic: Advanced

Ages: 13 - 18 years old
Time: 1pm to 2pm
Cost: $25.00
Registration: 12:30pm @ Highland’s Field

This pitching clinic is for the mature pitcher who has mastered the fundamentals of pitching and is working on mastering junk pitches. We will cover various drills to increase speed, movement, stamina and accuracy. A lecture on pitching strategies and mental toughness will also be given.

 

What to bring:
Cleats, Tennis Shoes, Glove, Hat/Visor, Water Bottle, a Catcher with Gear.

 


 

Elite Camp

Ages: 13 - 18 years old
Check In/Out: Wednesday at 3pm/Thursday at 3pm
Cost: $150.00 includes 3 meals & T-Shirt
Registration: 3pm – 5pm in Ashe Lobby

This overnight camp is for high school aged students that are looking to play at the collegiate level. Various skills and game strategies will be covered throughout the 3 intense sessions.

Camp Director:

Head Softball Coach Sara Russell is in her fourth year with the Lady Scots. She came to Covenant from Mid-Continent University, where she played and coached, and was named 2006 KIAC Coach of the Year. Last season the Lady Scots won the NCCAA Regional Tournament and made a second trip in a row to the NCCAA National Tournament. Four players from the Lady Scots were honored with All Region and 2nd Team All-American Awards, and Coach Russell was named the 2011 NCCAA Mid-East Region Coach of the Year.
