Lady Scots Lose Two at NCCAA Softball National Championships
Posted May 11, 2012BOTETOURT CO., Va. -- The Covenant softball season came to a close on Thursday afternoon at the 2012 NCCAA Softball National Championships as the Lady Scots dropped a 4-0 contest to Cal Baptist before being eliminated by Trevecca Nazarene 1-0. Covenant finishes the season 21-22 overall.
Lady Scots Earn NCCAA At-Large Berth
Posted May 7, 2012LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- Despite falling in the Mid-East Region Tournament a week ago, the Covenant Lady Scots softball team is headed to Botetourt County, Va., for a second straight season to play in the NCCAA Softball Championships on May 10-12.
The Lady Scots earned the eighth and final spot in the tournament field and will take on top-seed California Baptist at 12 p.m. on Thursday. If the Lady Scots win their first game, they will play Friday at 12 p.m. If the Lady Scots fall in game one, they will have to play a second game on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
Three Lady Scots Softball Players Earn NCCAA Honors
Posted May 3, 2012LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The NCCAA announced its softball All-Region team during the Mid-East Region tournament on Monday and three Lady Scots were placed on the 16-player team. Beth Harris, Chelsea Krafft, and Courtney Wagoner were all recognized for their efforts on the field this season.
Lady Scots Softball Ousted in NCCAA Regional

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- Playing on its own turf, the Covenant softball team hosted the NCCAA Softball Mid-East Region Tournament on Monday morning and afternoon. The Lady Scots received a bye in the tournament thanks to their No. 1 seed, but were bested in the end by the tournament's third-seed Trevecca Nazarene.
Trevecca Nazarene beat Covenant 4-2 in the second game of the tournament, but Covenant bounced back to eliminate the second-seed Ohio Christian 14-3 in the third game of the day. That setup a rematch with Trevecca Nazarene and once again the Lady Scots were defeated by the Trojans, this time 8-5. Trevecca Nazarene takes home the Mid-East Region Championship and will advance to the NCCAA Softball National Championship on May 10-12 in Botetourt County, Va.

Posted April 29, 2012LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- Covenant College is proud to be hosting the 2012 NCCAA Mid-East Region Softball Tournament. All games will take place on Monday, April 30 on the campus of Covenant. The host Lady Scots will play their first game at 11 a.m. against the winner of Ohio Christian and Trevecca Nazarene. The champion of the tournament will represent the Mid-East Region at the 2012 NCCAA Softball National Championship on May 10-12 in Botetourt County, Va.

Hannah Rogers Heads South
Posted April 25, 2012LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- Covenant College Head Softball Coach Sara Russell is proud to announce the commitment of Hannah Rogers for the 2012-2013 season. Hannah is a pitcher and a corner infielder. She currently attends Nebraska Christian School where she has earned a 3.9 GPA. Hannah is excited to attend Covenant because, “Covenant College is a college in which my faith can grow and will be encouraged.” Coach Russell is quoted saying, “Hannah brings a passion for the game and a competitive nature that will enhance the entire program.
