Agate is 1 shot behind the leaders after the first round of the AAC Conference Tournament
The rained soaked Fairfield Glade resort couldn't dampen the spirits of Scots golfer, Jordan Agate on the opening round of the Conference Tournament in Crossville, Tennessee. Agate opened the tournament with a solid 81, one shot behind co-leaders from Tennessee Wesleyan, Megan Cox and Natalie Foster. Agate and Cox played together and were neck and neck the entire day until Jordan misfired a tee shot on the par 5 16th hole.....Out of Bounds. That two shot penalty combined with a follow-up double bogey on the 17th hole moved the freshman three shots behind the senior Bulldog, Cox. However, Cox double bogeyed the final hole and Jordan made an 8' par putt to move to only 1 down heading in to the final round tomorrow.
The tournament is being played on the 5800 yard Heatherhurst Brae course. The Scots lone player is also in third place in the conference player of the year points. The top 5 players in the standings after the final round tomorrow will earn All-Conference for the AAC.
