Milligan Centers Too Tough As Lady Scots Crash to Defeat
Lookout Mountain, GA- Wednesday night did not prove to be a good one for the Covenant College women's basketball team, as they fell to a painful defeat at the hands of the Milligan College Lady Buffaloes. Outplayed and out-muscled for a majority of the game, the Lady Scots had a difficult time coping with Milligan's two centers, Heather Mandela and Alisha Mainer, who combined for 23 points and 22 rebounds. The Lady Buffaloes also shot well from outside the arch, draining 9 three-pointers on the night.
For Covenant, only senior Erika Forland managed to reach double digits in points with 10, although the team was boosted by freshman Kiaira Cooper's return from injury.
After the 70-39 loss, which puts Covenant at 7-12 on the season, the Lady Scots will now have to wait until Saturday's game at Oakwood University for their next shot at victory. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 P.M.
