
ATLANTA, Ga. -- Nine Covenant men's and women's cross country runners competed at the Emory Invitational outdoor track event on Saturday, March 21 in Atlanta. On the women's side, Spookie Eaves, Beth Burgess and Ruthie Cargill set personal records on the track while the men had solid showings as well.
Eliot Kaufmann and Graham Massot both competed in the 1500. Kaufmann finished in 4:19 while Massot clocked in at 4:27. Also on the men's side, John Weaks, competing in his first track 5k, completed in 17:22 while Justin Jantomaso finished the 5k in a personal best time of 18:15.
In her final track 5k appearance, Burgess set a personal best at 19:51. Meanwhile, Eaves and Cargill also set new personal records on the track as they finished in 19:53 and 20:45, respectively. Esther Anderson completed the 5k in a time of 22:01.
Covenant will be back on the track this weekend with another trip to Atlanta to compete in the Emory Classic in Friday and Saturday.
